As many as 16,000 students and employees have participated in 110 CPR trainings so far under the campaign to teach CPR (Basic Life Support Training), a noble initiative launched by GCS Hospital. A CPR VTV training program was organized at St. Xavier’s School on 19 August 2023 under this campaign.

Today, be it a common man or a big celebrity, they suffer from ‘cardiac arrest’ (temporary slowing or stopping of the heart) even at a young age. A patient’s chance of survival increases by more than 40 percent if they are given immediate CPR treatment by someone trained in CPR techniques. In this method, at the time of cardiac arrest, pressure is applied to the chest at a specific place, at a specific time, to restart the heartbeat and save the person’s life.

More than 550 students participated in this special training program.
