Gujarat Science City Organises “Science Safar 2026” for School Students of Gandhinagar District

Ahmedabad, 1st October 2026: Gujarat Science City, in collaboration with the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST), is organising “Science Safar 2026: Expository Visit to Science City for School Students.” The initiative aims to provide school students with practical, experiential and engaging exposure to science and technology.

The programme has been specially designed for school students, including those from rural and remote areas, with the objective of nurturing scientific curiosity and providing opportunities to explore science beyond conventional classroom learning through direct and hands-on experiences.

Under the first phase of the programme, approximately 4,100 students from 82 schools across Gandhinagar district are visiting Gujarat Science City.

During Science Safar, students are getting an opportunity to explore various science and technology-based galleries at Gujarat Science City. Through interactive exhibits, scientific demonstrations and experiential activities, they are gaining a better understanding of various scientific principles and their real-world applications. The programme also enables students to connect concepts learned in textbooks with practical experiences while encouraging curiosity, observation, critical thinking and a scientific temperament.

Under the guidance of Gujarat Science City and GUJCOST, students are also participating in STEM-based educational activities and experiential learning programmes. These activities provide them with an engaging and practical understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and encourage them to explore these fields with greater interest and curiosity.

To facilitate the students’ visits, transportation arrangements are being provided through GSRTC, ensuring convenient access to Gujarat Science City for participating schools.

The Science Safar 2026 programme is planned for the academic year 2026–27 and will continue until February 2027. Efforts are being made to enable maximum participation from schools across all districts of Gujarat, extending the benefits of experiential science education to students across the state.

Through this initiative, Gujarat Science City and GUJCOST aim to strengthen experiential science education and inspire young minds to observe, explore, experiment and develop a deeper connection with science and technology.
