Ahmedabad: Popular band ‘Aghori Music’, known as the ‘hit machine’ in the Gujarati urban music sector and laying the foundation of hip-hop culture in regional music, is launching its biggest global project ‘Welcome To Gujarat’ album. This new album has been prepared with the aim of giving a new and modern identity to Gujarati heritage at the international level. Along with this grand launch, Aghori Music is also going to officially announce its first major ‘world tour’, the main objective of which is to present urban Gujarati hip-hop live to music lovers living around the world and especially to travelling Gujaratis. What is special is that Aghori Music has completed its successful 10 years in the industry this month itself, which makes this launch even more special for the band and their fans.
In this musical journey that began in the year 2016, Aghori Music has so far given more than 100 great original songs. The biggest feature of ‘Aghori Music’ is that its three main artists—Kruz, K.Deep and Hard-D—handle the writing, singing, music composition and video shooting of all their songs completely originally by themselves. Aghori Music is the only official music band in the world to present ‘Hip-Hop Garba’ by combining the glory of traditional Garba with modern rap beats on a global scale.
This upcoming album ‘Welcome to Gujarat’ has a total of 14 banging songs, which will give the listeners a wonderful blend of traditional culture and modern Western music. This album mainly includes powerful songs like ‘Hun (Lions Roar)’, ‘Charan Kanya’, ‘Na Chhandya Harada’, ‘Kutch – Chandni Ni Chadar’ with Diwaliben Ahir, ‘Sathe Krishna, To Sheno Prashan?’, ‘Manki’, Garba Gheli’, ‘Dammar Dak-6 (Dakla)’, a special song that vividly represents tribal and rural culture ‘Something Tribal’, ‘Sona Vatkadi Freestyle’, ‘Juna Juna Jogi’, ‘Girni Kedi Wanki’, ‘Charaj’ and the title track ‘Welcome to Gujarat’ that depicts the main theme of the album. All these songs present the fragrance and diversity of Gujarat’s soil in a global music format.
Sharing their vision towards music, the artists of Aghori Music have said that our regional language and culture are so capable that they can be proudly presented on any platform at the international level. Instead of being limited to just social media or digital platforms, they want to bring this unique musical culture to life on the live stage through their upcoming world tour. The band is confident that this album and global tour will prove to be a milestone in representing Gujarati culture on a global level.
Talking about the creative journey of this album, Devarsh Kothari, Creative Head, Aghori Music, said, “As a creative team, ‘Welcome to Gujarat’ has been the most challenging and unique project for us so far. The 14 songs of this album are the result of months of research and musical experiments, where we have blended the spiritual vibes of Dwarka to the folk elements of Kutch and tribal music with Western hip-hop drums into an international sound. Through this album and the live world tour, we are going to give the audience a visual and audio experience that has never been seen or heard before in the regional music world.”
