In the first budget of the country’s successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 3.0 government, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the seventh time in a row today. In which the following developmental works were allocated in the budget for the agricultural sector.
For agriculture and allied sectors Rs. 1. An allocation of lakhs of crores was made.
32 fields for cultivation by farmers and 109 new high-yielding and climate-friendly varieties of horticultural crops will be released.
One crore farmers across the country will be encouraged for organic farming with certification and branding.
10,000 Bio Input Resource Centers will be established for organic farming.
In the next three years, Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) will be implemented for farmers to cover their lands.
A comprehensive review of the agricultural research set-up will be undertaken to transform agricultural research and focus on increasing productivity and development.
Under the leadership of Union Home and Cooperative Minister Amitbhai Shah, the cooperative sector is developing rapidly. The Union Budget has announced a National Cooperation Policy for overall development of the cooperative sector. This policy will infuse new consciousness in the rural economy.
