Amar Upadhyay and Mahi Bhanushali, the father-daughter duo of Colors’ latest social drama ‘Dori’ spread their charm in Ahmedabad.

Colors’ recently launched show ‘Dori’ has highlighted the abandonment of the girl child by tracing the story of Ganga Prasad’s foster daughter Dori who challenges patriarchal norms. Set in Varanasi, the thought-provoking drama revolves around a resilient six-year-old girl who stands up to the regressive mentality of Kailashi Devi Thakur, who owns the largest handloom empire in Varanasi and exercises strict control over the Thakur family. Starring Sudha Chandran as Kailashi Devi Thakur, Amar Upadhyay as Ganga Prasad, and Mahi Bhanushali as Dori, the story finds love for portraying the heartfelt bond between a loving father and a resilient daughter and communicating the ‘small thought’ about a girl.

In her current storyline, Mansi, Dori’s biological mother, is certain that her abandoned daughter is alive. Dori, on the other hand, dreams big for her foster father Ganga Prasad of becoming a talented weaver of the Bunker community and getting credit for her unique saree designs against the wishes of Kailashi Devi. While Ganga wants the best for Dori, she wants her father’s skill as a weaver to be recognised. Against Kailashi Devi’s cunning intentions, will Dori’s resilience bring her father the much-deserved appreciation? Catch this adorable father-daughter duo on ‘Dori’ every night at 9:00 PM, only on Colors.

Sharing his thoughts on promoting the show in Ahmedabad, Amar Upadhyay says, “Ahmedabad is my birthplace, and for Dori to visit it, which is really close to my heart, feels incredible. I thank the people of this beautiful city for supporting Dori. The entire team is warmly welcomed. Going beyond just entertainment, this show not only addresses girl abandonment but also portrays a beautiful father daughter bond. I am grateful to play the role of a loving father who is committed to ensuring a better life for his daughter. .I can’t thank the audience enough for accepting me as Ganga Prasad and I hope they continue to shower their love on our show.
