Ahmedabad | World Yoga Day is being observed on June 21 across the world, as Sewell’s dream of a yoga world is being seen as a reality by the country’s Prime Minister, Shri Narendrabhai Modi, on Wednesday. Gujarat Technological University (GTU) also celebrated Yoga Day at GTU Chandkheda on the theme “One Earth One Health” this year. On this occasion, GTU Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Pankajrai Patel said that yoga is the best therapy for physical and mental health. The practice of yoga has been accepted by the entire world. GTU BOG Member Shri Abhimanyu Samrat, GTU General Secretary Dr. K. N. Directors of various PG schools, GTU employees and more than 600 yoga practitioners from Chandkheda, Motera and GTU Free Yoga Center participated.
On the occasion of Yoga Day celebration, 8 social organizations including Gujarat State Yoga Board, Patanjali, KACH Foundation joined with GTU and participated in Yoga Day celebration in large numbers. As a special celebration, GTU organized a 7-day yoga training camp in more than 100 affiliated institutes under G-20. Apart from this, the Chairman of Gujarat State Yoga Board Mr. Shishpal Rajput was present at GTU and gave a yoga dialogue in the yoga dialogue program. Mass Surya Namaskar organized by Education Department was also successfully organized by GTU. Apart from this, a 2-day yoga training camp was also organized at GTU. All the participants were guided by experts from Gujarat State Yoga Board and Patanjali Yoga Committee. The Chancellor and General Secretary of GTU congratulated Sports Officer Dr Akash Gohil and his team for the successful celebration and planning of Yoga Day.
